These are a few very important principles to keep in mind regarding photographs. Listed below is how every principle functions..

  1. Emphasis :- is an area or object within the artwork that draws attention and becomes the focal point.

emphasis
This is an accurate example of emphasis, the tones of red contrast the cool tones of blue, emphasizing on the warmness of the red colored light chandelier.

2. Movement :- the way the artist leads the eye in around and through a composition, the path the eye follows.

movement
There is motion, there is action, there is energy is movement.

3. Balance :- (divided into formal and informal)                                                               Balance is formal when both sides are symmetrical in terms of arrangement.

formal balance
This picture has balance because there are equal hints of cool tones splattered around the painting

4. Rhythm :- rhythm is the repetition of a visual movement of the elements such as colors, shapes, lines, spaces, texture. variety is essential to keep rhythms exciting and active to avoid monotony.

rythm
This is an example of rythm and movement both

5. Contrast :- refers to the arrangement of opposite elements.

Eg- light vs. dark, hard vs. soft in a piece to create visual interest.

contrasting colours like red, blue, yellow and orange amidst black and white create visual interest

6. Scale  :- relative size of one object to another.

scale
bigger and smaller

7. Pattern :- not monotonous, can have 2-3 types of designs and more of an aesthetic statement.

pattern
curly patterns are repetitive but doesn't comprehend monotony

8. Texture :- Stands for the feel or touch you sense when you see the particular object.
